1950

Established by Herbert Polesy as a business trading in hessian and jute bags in Sydney.

1967

H Polesy & Co Pty Limited incorporated under the leadership of Herbert’s son, Martin Polesy.

1980s

1985 – Greg Polesy, Martin’s son, assumes control of the business.

1988 – Our most significant product is Wool Packs, both Jute and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE).

1989 – We open our first office outside of Sydney, in Melbourne.

1990s

1990 – We purchase another packaging company in Brisbane, beginning our operations in Queensland.

1992 – Natural Fabrics, Cotton Calico and Hessian Cloth, for local manufacturing is a growing part of our business.

1992 – We commence printing Poly Woven Bags in Australia.

2000s

2000 – We move to our current office and warehouse in NSW, in Matraville.

2003 – We commence operations in Western Australia.

2004 – We begin supplying Commercial Textiles to hospitality, healthcare and remote site accommodation.

2006 – We expand our range of Industrial Textiles to include Shade Cloth and Scaffold Net for construction, and Poly Woven Geotextile Fabrics.

2006 – We implement our Quality Management System, certified to ISO 9001.

2010s

2010 – Commercial Textiles & Bedding become our most significant products, due to the resources boom in Queensland and WA.

2011 – We implement our OH&S Management System, certified to AS 4801.

2012 – Our Management Systems become integrated with the addition of Environment Management certified to ISO 14001.

2013 – We commence operations in South Australia.

2013 – We begin supplying Multiwall Paper Sacks for agriculture and construction.

2013 – Poly Woven Bags & Sacks and Bulk Bags (FIBCs) become our most significant products.

2014 – We begin supplying Poly Mesh Bags for produce such as Onions.

2018 – Work is completed on our first purpose-designed and constructed office and warehouse, in Gnangara, Western Australia.

2020s

2020 – Juliette Polesy, the fourth generation of the Polesy family, commences a full-time role in sales management.

2022 – Our Integrated Management System is enhanced with certification to the new International Standard for OH&S, ISO 45001.

2023 – Dominique Polesy, another of the fourth generation of the Polesy family, commences full-time employment.
